Got this on clearance at Lowe's. I read it was a cheaper copy of the Beisemeyer, which is 3x more expensive. It is was simple to install on my Delta contractor saw, and is a huge upgrade to the factory fence I had. Very solid and true.
Although designed specifically for Delta products, modification of the mounting holes is a snap and should pose no real challenge. Made by Delta the same people who make the Biesemeyer, the design of this TS fence is derived directly from that lauded design and this unit performs in much the same manner. I find this to be the perfect upgrade for most "value priced" TS units. I mounted mine on an older Craftsman contractors saw that I simultaneously rebuilt and converted to a hybrid cabinet saw. The easiest part of the project was mounting the new fence and of all the modifications to that unit that were make, it is this fence that has made the most significant impact.
Otherwise the rail will be pushed too hard against the extension tables, which could cause a slight bend.Although there are bigger, heavier fences, I'm absolutely satisfied with the T2. I bought this fence a few weeks back and have been thrilled with it.I have a '70's Rockwell/Delta Unisaw with the clunky base model fence that simply wouldn't always lock square. For the price, you get a t-square fence that locks square every time. Considering I only paid $400 for the saw, I couldn't bring myself to spend that much on a fence, so I went for the "compromise" and got the T2.The mounting holes aligned perfectly, and it took well under an hour to install it. TIP: If your extension tables on either side of your saw protrude farther forward than the main table, use a washer or two between the front rail and the mounting points on the main table when you install it. The scale is easy to read, and should it be out of square, adjustments are easy to make. It also glides very smoothly.
After some fine tuning, it is insanely accurate and remains accurate. I put this on an older Craftsman contractor's saw and couldn't be happier. It glides smoothly and locks in place rock solid. I couldn't be happier with this upgrade. One thing to note is that it doesn't fit Craftsman saws without some modification. Its easy enough to do, and there are plenty of resources on the web to tell you how to do it.
Bought the whole system at Lowes for $20 cheaper. Package came with fence but no rails.twice. Rails were in that box. I was told the rails were somewhere in the box. Still waiting for the refund. First time I have had a problem w/amazon, customer service is hard to deal with to be polite. Fence and rail system is great, but you need the rails, amazon needs to know what they are selling.
